Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving? I feel like it always sneaks up on me. But in Canada Thanksgiving is the second weekend/Monday in October. There is a reason for it! I’ll get to that in a minute. I have found some amazing Canadian Thanksgiving side dish recipes to share with you today and to get you started in your Thanksgiving planning.

Canadian Thanksgiving Side Dish Recipes
Thanksgiving Day in Canada is a harvest festival and an official public holiday (in most parts of Canada) observed annually in early October, at the end of the Canadian harvest period, and before the cold winter sets in.
That’s why our Thanksgiving is so much earlier than the American Thanksgiving. I think it’s nice to have a nice long break from a big Thanksgiving meal to a big Christmas meal that is longer than a couple of weeks.
